Chloe made a Valentine’s day card booklet.

Andrew brought home cookies for the kiddies.

happy valentine’s day

It was a messy commute this morning because of the snow storm yesterday. Chloe’s school had a delayed opening and Andrew’s car got stuck in the snow on our street so he had to push the car out of the snow pile while I drove. After all that trouble, all of us got into our SUV to drop off Andrew at his bus stop, waited 30 min only to find out his bus was not running. By 9 am. I was exhausted. I wanted to just take the day off and stay home but Andrew kept insisting I go to work. When I started to get annoyed that he didn’t want me to stay home with him, he told me why.

The only reason I came to work today. Thanks honey!

Chloe,

undoing the snow pile…

After 3 hours later

I admit. Snow makes a pretty scenery.

shane’s mid-year review

Monday, February 10th, 2014

I noticed Shane began reading. His teacher said he’s really good with math too. Though, he’s still writing some numbers backwards. 🙂

Shane’s imaginary story.

He can read these words.

I felt this drawing was unfair.

Impressive drawings

Ski lesson continues… week 3.

Chloe’s skiing down from the mid-point of the mountain. She started getting on the lift!

Shane’s getting the hang of it. By end of the day today, he was falling less. 🙂

Our good friends are taking the kids for a sleepover at their house ! ! ! This is Shane’s first time ever sleepover and Chloe’s first time at a friend’s. She had a sleepover at her cousin’s last year so I knew she would be okay. In fact, she was too excited about it. She practically started packing the minute I told her about it two weeks ago. Shane, I was little nervous about. He’s been telling me that he didn’t want to go all week but something clicked between him and the our friend’s son during their (short) conversation about… I don’t know, what was it….NINJAGO ! The magic word that gets him every time. After that it was a done deal. Off they went.

We were so grateful for our friends! Andrew and I got to have a romantic night to ourselves. Thank you Michelle + Conway !  !  !

snow day #4…or is it #5 ?

I had a such productive day on this ice storm day at home. - I survived 3 hour conference call,

baked blueberry banana bread (for the first time!) and fed the family 3 square meals,

then helped Chloe make valentine’s day cards for her daisy scouts (10 cards) and her classmates (18 cards) while working from home.

What an icy day. Icicles hanging along the eaves of the house … beautiful.

snow day. again.

I had so many wonderful plans today. I took the day off and was planning on heading out to the city and enjoy the day. I had a restaurant reservation (which was very hard to get!) and appointments throughout the day and they all have to be cancelled and postponed….

Not sure if it was out of my frustration or what, but I had such urge to shove snow this morning. I was determined. Plus every time it snows we have to hire a service to plow our drive way and it’s getting expensive. Well. Not today. I’m going to use my muscles and do just that.

I shoved and shoved…. and shoved. Each time I turn around thinking I was done, more snow covered my track. Can’t even tell, I did anything!

Andrew said, if you google ‘crazy asian woman’, my picture will show up. Not nice. Though he may be right…. My OCD kicked in and I couldn’t stop shoveling.

This is how I felt after two hours.

Shane, loving the snow.

Today is like a French onion soup kind of day. It took a long time to make it but it was worth it. So yummy.

Kids wanted to sit  towards the window and enjoy the view while eating lunch. So cute.

I made:

Sweet and spicy chicken wings

and spicy queso dip for chips

and we headed over to our friends house to watch the game.

My friend surprised me with a birthday cake during half time. This birthday has been a series of surprises!

Thank you so much for having us. What a lovely house!

Cheers to my last year in the 30s…

When we got home, Andrew surprised me again with a cake! I didn’t even know where he was hiding it.  Thanks Babe!

I thank God for much blessing.
