happy halloween

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

Here’s my adorable princess. She wanted to be regular princess, not a disney character.

Shane’s a knight again. He and three of his buddies from his school decided to be knights together. So cute.

Off to go trick-or treating!

Happy 12th!

storm king { part 1 }

Saturday, October 26th, 2013

We had planned on going out for a nice dinner but we had a problem with finding a sitter so instead we are spending the whole day in this beautiful park reminiscing our 12 years together. We couldn’t have picked a better day to come here. What a gorgeous weather. Happy Anniversary to us. 🙂

Both my kids love to run. Man, they ran every where.

Up and down, up and down…

happy anniversary breakfast by kids

Saturday, October 26th, 2013

Today is our 12th wedding anniversary and Chloe is making us a breakfast in bed!

Shane’s Chloe’s helper.

She also wrote us a song and sang it.

Thank you Chloe and Shane for making this day a very special day. I can’t believe how sweet and awesome you guys are!

After the lovely breakfast, we stopped by at the library to get some books as we always do on Saturdays.

Chloe is an amazing reader. So proud of her….

Shane’s also beginning to read.

We love hanging out in this lovely reading room.

house updates

Monday, October 21st, 2013

I’m slowly decorating the house and here’s some of the photos. I framed some of my photographs from Africa, Paris and Alaska along with some art works.

Found this credenza on a craigslist. It’s my first time buying something that was posted on craigslist and I’m not really sure if it’s a good buy or not… paid $300 including shipping. Love it.

This was a big splurge: The carpet from ABC Carpet. Andrew and I don’t agree on many things when it comes to decorating the house. But this carpet, when I picked it out to show him, he immediately was sold. This was a winner! I also got this gold ottoman from One Kings Lane. (Which He had no comments about . ;))

This art work is Shane’s drawing of our old house. So sweet. Now we have our old house in our new home.

Finally finished family photo gallery in our upstairs lounge area.

Two ottomans from vintage store in Nyack, NY. They are perfect sittings for enjoying the fall weather from the porch.

We have new visitors this week.

Hope these ducks stay for a while.

oyster bash

Sunday, October 20th, 2013

My goodness, this is really good bloody Mary.

Thanks for taking me to Oyster heaven!

He took a picture of me eating, so I did too. 🙂

Got to meet celebrity chief, John Besh.

Great music,

fantastic drinks and oysters shared with an awesome friend on a beautiful autumn day in the city. Sans kids. (No offense kids. ;))

I needed this to sober up to go home.

dinner party – {food}

Saturday, October 19th, 2013

Starting with some olives, cheese and  patté

Savory coeur a la creme { Ina Garten’s recipe }

Roasted pear with stilton and cranberry on arugula salad and butternut squash soup

Roast Pork loin with chili pomegranate glaze { Michael Lomonaco’s Porter House recipe }

Maple glazed acorn squash with pine nuts and raisins

There’s also Penne Alla Vecchia Bettola { Nick And Toni’s recipe } which I didn’t get to photograph

Bourbon vanilla ice cream with espresso Franfelico, shavings of chocolate, toasted hazelnuts with biscotti for dessert

I’m so glad I didn’t burn anything down and everything was cooked and they were edible. All in all, I say the food was pretty good. My God, I cooked with praying heart. 😉
