tree huggers

Sunday, April 28th, 2013

We are at the end of the process of selling our house and one of the things we will miss the most is this Japanese maple tree. Kids love to climb and hang on the tree. Chloe religiously hugs this tree before and after school. In fact, it’s the first thing they both run to when they get home from school.

Chloe’s sad…

We still have a couple of months until we move so we’ll be giving it many hugs before then…

spicy salad

My mom went to my mother-in-law’s garden to pick some vegetables yesterday and she made this delicious spicy water dropwort  and chive  salad dish.

So fresh and so yummy!

for the lobster lover

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

My dad is leaving for Korea tomorrow leaving my mom here with us for a while. I’m usually a mess when my parents leave but this time, I wasn’t that bad. The kids were actually more sad than I was. So tonight, because my dad loves lobster so much, I made whole wheat penne with two lobster tails, shrimp and bacon.  It was the whole family’s favorite actually. Recipe from Giada.

To compliment the pasta, I put together a grapefruit and fennel salad with champagne vinagrette dressing.

Chloe sounded like she had a blast. She got to sit in a meeting with Andrew in the morning, had a pizza party with other kids and even got a tour of the Chrysler building!

shane, the artist

Ever since I made the poster of Chloe’s 100 drawings, Shane’s been handing me his art works every single day asking me to make his.

I love seeing his Ninjagos drawings. They are so funny and have creative stories behind them!

I was blown away by these latest drawings. Wow. He’s improved so much just in the last few weeks. He even drew facial stubble. haha.

We enjoyed a beautiful yet a bit chilly spring weather today playing out doors.

We love coming here at Watchung reservation park for some great playgrounds for kids.

When we got home, these guys were waiting for us. Thanks Mom!

chloe’s restaurant

Chloe’s been into planning tea parties for the whole family.  She gets so excited about it and sometimes, she would throw in a fashion show and dance performances after we eat. For the tea party, She decorates the table by making napkins, flowers, placemats, name cards and even prepares the food all by herself. I wonder where she got this from…. 😉

In order to get a table at her “restaurant” she first asks us to sign up our names, then she also confirms the guest list. Then we get to finally sit at her private table.

spring break

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013

Today, I took my beautiful mom and my cutie Chloe for a lunch and a show in the city.

We got so lucked out with a gorgeous spring weather! We spent relaxing time in Bryant park in the morning.

Chloe took a picture of us!

Love the outdoor library here.

Lunch at Bryant Park Grill.

My mom had parsnip soup,

and Chopped Cobb Salad : Maytag blue cheese, avocado, bacon, hardboiled egg, olives, onion, fire-roasted peppers, sliced radish, tomato, balsamic vinaigrette with Grilled Shrimp

I had Bryant Park Sea Grill: whole Maine lobster, diver scallops, jumbo shrimp, saffron tomato rice, herb lemon butter sauce. Yum!

Chloe had Fontina Mushroom Ravioli in a Parmesan Broth: peas, spinach, baby artichokes, tomato, shitake mushrooms, roasted garlic

She finished the whole thing!

Then off to a Broadway show: Cinderella!

Half time snack: Magnolia cupcakes. 🙂

We absolutely loved the show! What an awesome day with my girls. 🙂
