merry christmas

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

We took the kids to the city to see the tree at the Rockerfeller Center. After taking over two hours to get the kids dressed, fed and packing our suitcase full of diapers, milk, snacks, juice, blankets, toys, etc…, when we finally got there it was way too cold and crowded to hang outside. We didn’t even get to the Christmas window displays in stores that I wanted to see and ended up rushing back home in an hour. I have to say that it was still worth it for me to get out there. For me, being in the middle of New York City is the best way to celebrate this wonderful day, even if it was only for few minutes and (no matter what Andrew would tell you. ;)) There’s still a city girl in me after living in a ‘burb for over 7 years!

I feel very fortunate that Chloe loves her little brother Shane so much. I honestly thought that she would get jealous of her brother but very thankfully she’s been so great to him. She knows that she has to be gentle with him and I think that she wants to take good care of him too. Just a few days ago, Chloe pointed at his diaper and told me, "mommy, change diaper".

cheers!

I had a half day today so Andrew came to pick me up at work and we had a nice celebratory lunch together. It was nice time catching up, looking back and reminiscing on 2008. We feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful year with love and support from our family.

Chloe’s growing up so fast, talking in sentences, expressing herself very well both in Korean and English and Shane’s just so darn cute. He’s very responsive to what’s going on around him. When I smile, he smiles, when I make a sound, he makes a sound. He already flipped over from his stomach to his back three weeks ago. He’s a very strong boy! I forget how much I enjoyed this stage with Chloe too. They really do grow up fast. I’m just savoring this moments and kissing them nonstop because before I know it, it will be uncool to harass them with kisses like that.

where did time fly?

Today was my first day back at work since Shane was born. It wasn’t as tearful as I thought since I’m only working for couple days this week and next week and I’m off again for three weeks in beginning of January. I can’t believe Shane’s already 3 months old!!

my best buddies

Friday, December 19th, 2008

I was supposed to go out to the city for a girls night out. I’ve been looking forward to this night for months… but thanks to the snow storm, I couldn’t. So instead I hung out with my usual buddies!

3 months old

Shane’s just getting over a cold and an ear infection. It’s been very tough for all of us as we were all sick. I also had a sinus infection and I couldn’t smell or taste anything for a week. But all is behind us.

class cancelled

Friday, December 19th, 2008

I’ve been taking Chloe to gymboree classes three times a week. I wanted to spend as much time as possible until I go back to work full time in January. This morning because of snow, they were closed and she was so upset! So we stopped by an art supply store and picked up some paint brushes and playdohs. We put on some Christmas music and had lots of fun making a mess together.

quiet time

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I grew up watching my dad doing a quiet time in the early morning, never missing a day. Chloe gets curious what he’s doing and she goes for his stuff every chance she gets.  She’s always taking his glasses, pens, and books from him.  Today, I caught them reading and praying together.
It was quiet a moment.
