This morning, I took Shane with me to run errands. I’m in the process of turning my old studio space (little spare room next to a guest room) into a walking closet. So Shane and I went to the Container store to buy shelving units.
My buddy Shane was a great company!
We took a road trip to East Hampton today. We spent some time shopping and walking around town then drove around to find a park.
We took a turn on a dead end and ended up on a quiet street with a tucked away beach…
Kids and I enjoyed picking pretty sea shells and rocks on the beach. We consistently had to remind kids not to take off their shoes and go in the water.
This morning I treated Chloe to a manicure. It’s not something I do often so it was her first time. I wanted to do something fun and special with just Chloe since it’s been a while since we did a girl thing.
Then we all went to Bear mountain to try ice skating.
Chloe was super excited but Shane wasn’t too into it. They couldn’t find a right size skates for him and he just felt uncomfortable. I did one lap with him and he was done.
Chloe never gave up and did pretty well. After Andrew and I took turns teaching her, she was able to skate when we held her hand.
HAPPY to be home and see my family! I didn’t have any time to buy them anything so I was so thrilled to find a disney store at the airport.
They love their presents!
Chloe drew this picture and gave it to me as a surprise. She said the little girl is crying because she thought she lost her mama. “But then they found each other and she’s happy now. That’s why there’s a unicorn. Because unicorn means happiness.”
Today is the last day of my business trip and I celebrated my birthday by having a nice and quiet dinner by myself. My bosses and my coworkers celebrated my birthday last night and they all left early this afternoon to return to their hometowns. I got done with work late this afternoon, just in time for my spa appointment and was abled to enjoy the finest massage (thanks to my special friend!) and this quiet dinner alone was the perfect way to end my birthday.
I’m just so glad and relieved this trip is almost over and that I can go home to my family tomorrow. My only agenda tomorrow is to jump in the pool in the morning before I leave!
Mother, jewelry designer and full-time graphic designer / Creative Director, I am HaeWon Cadence Ryu and this is a glimpse into my life's blessings, passion and inspiration.
This blog came to fruition after I began motherhood; I wanted to be able to capture every milestone of my two beautiful children - Chloe and Shane - as they journey through their early years. And since the launch of my online jewelry site, CadenceLee.com, I have come face-to-face with having to juggle multiple roles. As a result, I have decided to feature some of my designs and inspiration alongside postings of my precious family. For me, this is the perfect medium of work-life balance.
