governor’s island

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

As soon as we put him down, he started to crawl away.

We wanted to see how far he would stray from us.

Chloe found it strange that we’re not following him, so she got worried and ran after him.

She made sure Shane was okay and stayed by his side.

He’s a happy camper.

Doesn’t like to be held too much.

Ready to walk.

I can’t believe how quickly this year has passed and that in three short weeks Shane will be one year old. How the time has flown! I’m sending out the invites now.

date night in august

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Jennifer is now a fulltime nanny and she has graciously offered to babysit the kids once a month so Andrew and I can go out and have a date night. So as soon as I was off work at 2pm. we drove to NYC for a small shopping spree. We walked around SoHo, visiting my old neighborhood and my favorite shops like Fragments, Big drop, Intermix, Olive & Bett’s, Apc, Dolce & Gabanna, Barbara Bui, Catherin Malandrino, Flying A, etc.

Then we had a late lunch at Balthazar bakery and walked over to NoLita, where I used to go every Saturday from 2004-2005 to a place called ‘the Market NYC’. I sold my jewelry here along with other 100s of independant designers.

I loved and enjoyed the interaction with customers. fun times…

Then we headed over to East village to eat japanese food at sobaya. Afterwards, we ended up in West village, walking around and chatting. It was a really fun night, getting alot of excersice. I didn’t really purchase anything it was more of eye shopping and research for my next collection. Andrew was never a fan of shopping but he was really a good sport and followed me around everywhere. (Well, he did have his blackberry in his face the whole time while I was in shops but still…)

Can’t wait til our next date night at the u2 Concert!

mall to mall

It was too hot and too humid to go anywhere outdoor this weekend. So where did we go? The malls!!!

Shane always looses his left shoe.

how do you like them apple?

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Shane has 8 teeth and can eat solid pieces of fruits such as apples and peaches. He wants to eat what we eat now so sometimes we have to sneak around to eat snacks.

This morning, Chloe was getting little agitated sitting on the breakfast table waiting for Shane to finish his. So her nanny told her to be patient and Chloe tells her, "I’m too young to be patient!"

Because I woke up extra early this morning (4:30 a.m.), I decided to give Shane his first hair cut. I call it a clean gentlebaby style.

Chloe agrees his hair is cute.

She did potty #2 last Thursday for the very first time. Her nanny left Chloe’s poop in the potty for me to see when I came home from work. Uhm, thanks Jen. I told Chloe, that I want to buy her a present. She didn’t pause for a second to tell me what she wanted.
She wanted purple Crocs. Her best friend Tirra has them apparently. I cannot believe Chloe is already asking for things that her friends have. She is so into shoes and knows the different types of shoes, "…this is my tennis shoes, that’s my sandal, that’s my jellyshoes, my boots, flip flops… they’re not comfortable but I want to wear them!"  She got the flip flops as a present from Eura but since they are big on her, Chloe fell on her knees a few time at daycare. However, she keeps insisting on wearing them even though she tells me that they are uncomfortable.

Her nanny pointed out that Chloe is compromising fashion over comfort. ALREADY!?!?

Every other night, Chloe and I do projects together before bed. These are from last week.

Chloe and I water the plants almost every evening. I have to… because Chloe never forgets. She loves to help me garden even if it’s 100 degrees outside.
