Pretty Flower

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Chloe’s teacher gave me this as I was dropping her off at the daycare this morning. What a perfect flower for my new office! 🙂

Green Paradise

I work on trend presentations a lot for work and one of the strongest trends is still the green movement. This is one of art works I did to inspire our clients.

Sweetheart

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Since getting over the terrible cold+sinus infection, she became even a sweeter and happier baby. All I heard from her this weekend was nothing but her sweet laughters and giggles. She finds everything funny and amusing, even an ant on the floor or spilled water on her plate. She’s gotten much easier and cooperative at restaurants too. We enjoyed her so much this weekend!
I’m also happy to report that she is back in her own crib after a month and an half of going back and forth of sharing our bed. She didn’t really give us a hard time about it like we thought she would. We thought it was going to be a nightmare trying to re-train her sleeping routine. But when we told her we would stay in her room until she fell asleep, she understood and was okay with the idea. What a good girl. 🙂

New Hair Do

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I was planning on taking her to a salon for a haircut but I wanted to wait until she got better. But since the rash, she seemed to be more irritated by her long hair, so I decided to give it a try on Sunday. We took her to our backyard, sat her on Andrew’s lap and snip, snip! I gave her a little trim. It was my first hair cut ever! (Well, actually I tried giving Andrew a haircut once before but since then, I wasn’t allowed to touch his hair after that.) But I think I did a pretty decent job on Chloe, no?
Since the weekend, I’m happy to report that her skin color is returning to normal and she’s eating much better now. My happy girl is back!! 🙂

Gifts for Jenn

I made these for my good friend Jenn who’s getting married in a couple of weeks. She’s been one of my faithful clients ever since I started the business. Congratulations again, Jenn! See you at the wedding!~

Too Much

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

I gave a short squeak when I saw Chloe this morning. She had developed rashes all over her face and neck. I tried to calmly manage my shock and emotions as she was looking at me with such sad eyes. I immediately called her doctor’s office and was able to make an appointment for this afternoon. We thought that we can still make it to church and take her to the doctor’s afterwards, so I was getting her ready. She didn’t have much of appetite so she had a little bit of banana and some strawberries for breakfast. When I took her to her room to pick out her outfit, Chloe kept pointing at her crib and cried holding my hands. I didn’t realize why she was doing that until I put her in the crib. She just laid down quietly and went to sleep. Poor thing, she needed to sleep and rest more. Andrew went to the service by himself and I stayed home with Chloe.
When we finally took her to see a doctor, he said the rashes were her body’s reaction from the high fever she’s had and that it should hopefully go away in a couple of days… she’s been through so much…

Besides her being sick, Andrew had a noise bleed this morning from lack of sleep, and I’ve had stomach cramps all night. I decided to check myself into a hospital on Saturday morning suspecting contractions. It was scary since I’m only 23 weeks pregnant. Apparently, I was dehydrated and was doing too much. After a few hours of rest/nap and the help of IV, my contractions slowed down. I was happy (and relieved) to be released from the hospital the same day.
What a weekend!

Slowly but Surely

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Since the launch of my website in April, I’ve had a good amount of sales already. Not too much but just enough for me to handle for now and I’m very thankful for that. It’s been very tough juggling my full time job, taking care of my 18 month old baby girl, doing house chores, and being pregnant. If it wasn’t for your feedbacks, encouragements, AND sales, I wouldn’t have spent as much time doing what I really enjoy. Making jewelry is for me, which is my way of unwinding at the end of a hectic day. Thanks for allowing me to keep my hobbies at work!

High Fever

Friday, May 30th, 2008

It literally feels like your heart is tearing into pieces when your child is sick. Chloe’s been having a high fever for about three days now. On Wednesday night it was as high as 103.6ºC. I’m doing everything I can to lower the fever by giving her sponge baths, giving her Motrin every 4 hours, applying wet towels on her forehead in between… is there anything else??
My little active girl is now so quiet and mallow… all she wants to do is to be held by me and rest her head on my shoulder. She’s also refusing to eat which makes it harder.
I feel so helpless and beyond exhausted… It broke my heart to pieces to leave her home and go to work today. She didn’t want me to go. It was her saddest cry of all.

Mini Vacation-Greenport

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

We took a mini trip to Greenport, LI for the long weekend. It was a great bonding time together for the whole family!

Chloe taught daddy how to tap dance. Whenever she’s happy and excited she does this “happy stomp” So adorable. 🙂

We had a great view of the ocean from our deck. We hung out here for the most of the afternoon.
We visited a lavender farm where Chloe met a beautiful dog. She LOVES dogs even the big ones. She kept saying “mung mung” and wanted to touch.
