So the concussion I had 3 weeks ago skiing has sent me to ER today. My headache/pressure hasn’t subsided and my friends have been urging me to get it checked… and I was only able to get MRI done this morning for various reasons. When my scan results were sent to my doctor, she called me to tell me to go to ER immediately because the scan showed blood in my brain on both sides. I got into my car and had a panic attack thinking I’ve been running around last 3 weeks bleeding in my head and what kind of circumstances that I may have caused and I might need surgery tonight?! Thanks to God, he gave me strength to pull myself together, drove home, and packed a bag containing my toiletries +2 books & kindle (I really thought I was going to be in the hospital for a while from what I was told) and of course some healthy snacks, then Andrew drove me to the hospital. There, after going through routine checks, they told me what the scan seems to be showing was old blood and they’ll just put me on steroid for now followed by CT scan in 2 weeks. What a relief…. We were planning on leaving for Lake Placid this afternoon for a long weekend trip to ski… but instead, I’m now housebound, with even more headaches from the trauma/shock this afternoon…

Wife, Mother, jewelry designer & graphic designer /Creative Director, I am HaeWon Cadence Ryu. This is a glimpse into my life’s blessings, passion and inspiration.
This blog came to fruition after I began motherhood; I wanted to be able to capture every millestone of my two beautiful children - Chloe & Shane as they journey through their early years. Since the launch of my online jewelry site, cadencelee.com, I’ve come face-to-face with having to juggle multiple roles. As a result, I have decided to feature some of my designs and inspiration alongside postings of my precious family. For me, this is the perfect medium of work-life balance.
