We woke up bright and early and there was a full breakfast waiting for us. My mom had made traditional rice cake soup, beef bbq with various vegetable side dishes, and grilled fish. As long as I remember, that's how it's been at my parent's house growing up every new year's breakfast.
By 8 a.m., we had a full meal and were stuffed. The kids and I then got dressed in Korean traditional outfits to formally wish my parents a happy new year. We taught our kids to bow down to their grandparents giving respect and wishing them good luck and in return, they both got money. (hence my favorite holiday growing up!)
Afterwards, Andrew, Chloe and I went to a playground nearby to play with snow where we made Chloe's first snowman.
