We finally got together with the Mun family at New York Hall of Science in Queens. I was very impressed with its 3 levels of fun, interesting, educational and interactive exhibits.

The kids also loved the outdoor space with slides, climbing nets, flowing water and a hill to roll down.

Some big boys didn't want little boys to play with them so when Shane got pushed aside, he confronted them with loud "WHOA" standing tall. Shane's one tough boy!

Shane fell off the blocks right after I took this picture. I'm so sorry… 🙁

Shane loves playing peek-a-boo and hiding inside curtains.

my day off

P1010122

Today was MY day off. I had some appointments in the morning with suppliers for my new baby jewelry line, but after that, I had the whole afternoon to myself. I started out my day with breakfast cupcake from my favorite bakery, Magnolia!

I passed by Time Square area and it reminded me of my old advertising days when I was working 12-14 hours a day. I DO NOT miss the hours but I do miss the exciting work I used to do. My solo work that I did for beautyjungle.com was featured here for a couples weeks in December 1999 turning to 2000 Millennium and I made my friends stand here in the coldest night to watch my 12 second work of fame. It was the screen above the Europa cafe. Good times…

After my meetings, I met up with my hubby for a lunch date at a cozy Japanese restaurant.

Then I spent the rest of the afternoon at MoMa. I love taking kids to museums BUT I love it even MORE coming by myself. Let the creative charging begin…

nightlife in Miami

Friday, October 16th, 2009

I had the lists of things to do in Miami and one of them was going to eat at Eden Roc. Ever since the place was featured in Food Network channel, I’ve been wanted to check it out. So after the kids went to bed, Andrew’s mom stayed in the condo with them so we can go out. The night we went to Eden Roc happened to be a fashion week sponsored by Stoli, and we got to enjoy great fashion shows and some complimentary drinks.

Posing like celebrity wannabees.

Lobster fritter and spicy chicken wings, Miami style.

yay!

Shane’s room has been chosen as TOP KIDS’ ROOM at ohdeedoh.com. We were featured here yesterday but I just found out! I love the website and I get tons of inspirations from their site. Thank you for choosing my boy’s room!

Shane’s room. done.

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Shane’s room is finally done! Every element in this room was designed and made by yours truly. My inspiration came from this amazing lamp shade by Tord Boontje. I LOVE and admire his brilliant installation art works. I have a couple more of his lamps and wall decor around the house which I purchased hereThe decals are inspired by Olli & Lime. I drew my versions of them for the room but you can purchase the originals here. This room used to be our guest room with a queen size bed which I kept minus the box spring and the frame so kids and I can snug up in this area to read and play together. The theme of this room is Whimsical Fantasy Land. I wanted to create a fun, dreamy, amusing, flamboyant and virbrant room with a modern twist. I hope to build many more fun and precious memories with my kids here. This is for you Shane…

and the drama starts here in the night time…

trip to naples

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

I left last night for a business trip to Naples, Florida and flew out of Newark just in time before the big snow storm hit. What a difference a couple of hours in flight makes… the weather is gorgeous, sunny, although it’s a bit windy but hey, its not snowing here.

I miss the kids A LOT. I miss the kisses, hugs and their smell…I kept having anxious thoughts but I knew they were in good hands. My parents are leaving next week to return to their home and that’s when I’ll be in panic mode. For now, I should enjoy the sleeping in until 7 a.m. sleeping through the night, sit down meals, and the nice weather here in Florida. I love the place we are staying in. A few shots of the resort for inspirations…

leaves

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

I can’t seem to get over how beautiful the trees around our house are. Andrew was blowing the leaves off the lawn but I wished we could just keep them for little longer.

I love to draw, although I don’t get to do it as often as I would like to since my years in college. I always thought, when I was living in a studio in the city, that one day when I own a house, I would designate a room for painting. But now that we have a house, my priority has changed. We have to make rooms for our babies first. In the meantime, I’m happy I get to do it little bit for work.
