We planned on walking to “the shopping mall” area in town, but the kids quit walking after 10 min. We spent most of today swimming so everyone was pretty tired. Of course, determined me ended up walking to Salt Mill and back by myself which took about 2 hours. It was a nice time spent reflecting…

not so horrible day when put into perspective

Monday, April 20th, 2015

DSC_6677What started out to be a very exciting day turned into a complete disaster. We’ve been counting down towards today for months to spend our spring break in Turks & Caicos. Our flight got delayed so we sat on the plane for three hours then we had to deplane and go to another gate and they cancelled our flight. Not going into so much details, basically we spent the entire day at the airport and came back home…

I have to say though, our kids were super patient and didn’t really get upset. They mostly waited reading books, playing their games and talking to each other. During devotion tonight Chloe prayed “please let us not get upset because this is nothing compared to your pain on the cross to die for our sin, …”

Andrew and I both looked at each other after she was done, with wide eyes. Wow, we are doing something right by the grace of God.

DSC_6595 DSC_6596 DSC_6599Weather is finally getting nice here. Kids usually play outside when they get home from school. Shane usually rides his bicycle or kicks a soccer ball around but today looks like he joined his sister. So nice to find them reading together. 🙂

This morning we spent a couple of hours in MoMA looking at paintings. Kids enjoyed seeing Vincent Van Gogh & Henri Matisse’s paintings especially.DSCN3423

The production of the show exceeded all my expectations. When they opened with “The Circle of Life”, and seeing how the set, costumes and lights brought to life on the stage, I almost cried because it was so beautiful. I’m so glad I got to experience the show with my kids who appreciated it so much. The very first thing Shane said to me when it was over, was “Mom, thank you so much for bringing us here to see the show. I loved it!”

My kids were awesome audiences!
