We had a close friend’s family over for a lunch today.  I ordered 2 dozen oysters and Andrew learned to shuck them from Youtube. He did a great job! 

Chloe’s been raving about these pork belly buns that she sometimes eats when she goes to her friends house for a playdate so I decided to try making them myself.  It turned out delicious and Chloe said she likes them both but if she had to chose one, she likes her friends mom’s pork buns better than mine. She’s very honest, that girl.

And the mom got me the buns so I don’t have to make them. 🙂 Thanks Thao!

I chaperoned for Shane’s class zoo trip today.

So worth to take a day off from work to hang out with Shane and his buddies. Loved seeing him enjoying his friends.

Plus he was so so so happy that I was there. He made me feel so special.

Tonight I’m so excited that Chloe’s going to try eating sushi for the first time. We went out to a Japanese restaurant to have a dinner with Chloe’s friend and her mom. It’s my small treat to this sweet family who’s always baking us sweet treats every week. 🙂

We had so much fun and Chloe LOVED her first sushi experience. She had 3 pieces of salmon, California rolls and a salmon hand roll. She was stuffed! What a delicious way to start this mother’s day weekend! 😉

Shane and Andrew went golfing and they also had a great bonding time.

Today’ playdate activity

Today we’re having Chloe’s friend’s family over for a dinner. We met so many wonderful people in our town since we moved and this family is one of them. They been so wonderfully kind to us, I wanted to reciprocate the gesture by having them over for a delicious meal.

Tonight’s menu: Broiled miso marinated black cod

After the dinner girls invited us for a play they wrote, called “Christmas Gone Bad”.

Thank you for coming over and playing with us! And thank you for the entertainment, girls!

Chloe and I had a date today in the city. I had dinner plans with my friends and I thought it would be fun for her to come and tag along.

During dinner, Chloe sat quietly next to me and read her book while I caught up with my girlfriends.

Then we moved our venue to a wine bar where Chloe finished the book that she started reading today while enjoyed a hot chocolate. Yeah…I was that mom who brings a kid to a bar.

10PM and she was happy as a clam. I got to spend the entire day with my favorite girl in the world!

Chloe went to a fabulous glam girl birthday party and got a head to toe makeover.

Chloe’s social calendar is filling up everyday!

Her brownie troop went to a Panera’s Bread and got a tour of the kitchen,

made French baguette,

and also decorated tulip shaped cookies.

Afterwards, some of the moms and kids stayed for a dinner taking over entire back room of the cafe. It was an ultimate playdate for both moms and kids.  Shane was also joined by other boy siblings and had a blast!

On Tuesdays, Chloe gets picked up by her friend’s mom from school at 2:30pm. Chloe gets to go to her house, gets her homework done, plays, and eats dinner there. And the mom used to be a professional chef and Chloe always raves about how good her dinner was. Today her mom also packed chloe some cupcakes with different color icing piping bags so she can decorate them when she gets home. I mean… T.G. you’re amazing! We’re so lucky to know you!
