We are back at the Lin’s and the Wei’s came over to play with us too.

They prepared cookies for kids to decorate!

The kids wore halloween customs and guess what, all the girls were princesses. 🙂

Shane was the only boy in the house so he hung out with uncle Austin. Shane was giving him design advices. 😉

Kids got a huge treat! Ben did photo shoots for everyone in his studio in the attic.

date with my son

Monday, October 8th, 2012

Shane’s school was closed today for Columbus day but Chloe had school. So I took Shane to the city for a date.

We went to Children’s Museum of Art in Soho.

My cartoon drawing.

Our date didn’t turn out as great as I hoped. When we got to Soho, I thought we can have a nice brunch here but Shane didn’t want to eat. He literally dragged me out of the restaurant and then he decided he didn’t want to walk any more. I tried to bribe him with some toys and cookies to walk but he refused and I ended up carrying him about a mile to the museum. He played and did activities there but wasn’t very thrilled about all the arts and crafts as usual. When it was time to eat lunch we hopped in a cab to go eat at the Republic since he loves noodles but he started falling asleep in the car. That’s when I knew he wasn’t feeling well. We barely ate and left the restaurant to get back to the port authority. He felt asleep in my arms as we were in line to get on the bus home and slept all the way home. Poor thing, he started get feverish…

I have to say, I was so so excited to spend the whole day with my boy in the city I love, but with every thing that’s happened, I wanted to get out there as fast as I could. It didn’t help when everyone we ran into and talked to { the restaurant servers, cab driver, cafe owner } were so impatient with me and were just so painfully rude. I was terribly disappointed and it will be a long time until I can do this again…

Shane was still feeling tired and kind of cranky when we got home but when we went to pick up Chloe together, he became alive again. At home, they were playing together so well and that reminded me how thankful I am that they have each other. I see that Chloe makes him very happy and vice versa.

I had a few minutes to rest before dinner time because my back was killing me from carrying 40 lbs pound kid all day! Glad today is over…

It was a beautiful night…

planning an intimate affair

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

My girlfriends and I are planning a surprise birthday party for one of our friends tomorrow night. She’s also moving to London in a few weeks with her family so this party means a lot to us. I have the joy of decorating for this special night at our friend’s house. We’re using their splendid family room to put three of 6′ tables in the middle which will comfortably accommodate 19 guests for a sit down meal.
The theme of the party is: English garden.

Julie is a beautiful woman of God. Truly inspiring…and it’s my honor to plan her party. I’m blessed to be able to say she is my sister in Christ.

Mr. Andrew was in charge of the oven department.

They also did lots of craft projects.

Now the tasting part!

Yum!

Then they went out side and did egg hunting.

Cute moment: Shane, playing with baby Mikaela.

I wasn’t able to soothe her but Andrew did. He still got that magic touch.
