Another great day to ski with friends! We came to meet with a bunch of friends at Belleayre Mt. and it was a beautiful sunny day. Snow condition wasn’t as great as last few weeks and it got more icy in the afternoon. But that’s how we do it on the east coast and didn’t stop us going down on black diamond trails!
We all went down on black!
Not only we all survived, Shane and I did one more black after this.
Kids and I woke up at 5:30 am and left the house by 6:30 am to go ski on the Plattekill mountain! We were the first three to ski on the beautifully groomed trails when they just opened. Oh what fun! That made the 2.5 hrs of driving on the downpour icy rain all worth it! Our friends joined us in mid-morning and we had a blast skiing non stop. This mountain is small but the fact that we never had to wait in line for a lift, was pretty sweet. On the ride back, kids were saying how much fun they had and they rated today as 9 out of 10. I say that’s a success!
Kids and I got up at 5:45am this morning to get to Blue Mt to ski with Lin family! It’s been years since we skied with them and we had so much fun. It’s nice to just follow the pros without looking at the map and deciding which trails to take. With so much snow we’ve been getting this winter, the snow conditions were unbelievable. The best, as far as I could remember in the East coast.
Even though it’s freezing out, it’s still nice to go for a little walks with Miles. We usually just run around in the backyard but because of snow, we took a walk around the neighborhood. It took an hour just to walk a few blocks because he likes to check out everything!
Happy birthday to me. It was a quiet day… we got hit with snow storm and we played in the snow with Miles. Chloe and I baked a banana cake with cream cheese frosting. I made it not too sweet, just perfect for my taste.
4 large ripe bananas (about 1and 1/2 cups mashed)

Wife, Mother, jewelry designer & graphic designer /Creative Director, I am HaeWon Cadence Ryu. This is a glimpse into my life’s blessings, passion and inspiration.
This blog came to fruition after I began motherhood; I wanted to be able to capture every millestone of my two beautiful children - Chloe & Shane as they journey through their early years. Since the launch of my online jewelry site, cadencelee.com, I’ve come face-to-face with having to juggle multiple roles. As a result, I have decided to feature some of my designs and inspiration alongside postings of my precious family. For me, this is the perfect medium of work-life balance.
