featured in VOGUE

I have very exciting news! A few months ago an editor-in-chief from Vogue UK magazine reached out to me via email. She found my collection worthy to be featured in the fashion bible, Vogue. Ha. Insane. I know.

It was unreal. I am no longer working with a PR  firm so I was surprised that they found me! Towards the end of last year, I was thinking about folding my business as it was too much to handle with two kids and a full-time job. I felt I couldn’t really keep up with my jewelry passion. I haven’t even updated my website for months. I always have new collections  for trunk shows, holiday sample sales and such, but I found it very stressful and time consuming to update my site regularly. Then when I was contacted by the magazine, (and several others which I’ll announce later) I knew I had to make a decision. I thought and thought about it…Although it was very hard for me to let go, I decided to fold most of my jewelry line and focus on 1 product, my baby pendant collection. I figured it’s easier for me to keep up the baby pendant orders then stretching myself thin and making various pieces and collections. This baby collection is what I’m most proud and passionate about. It was inspired by my first baby Chloe and I loved the idea of making new moms feel special with this custom pendant. I do admit that I am a little sad but who knows, maybe I’ll be able to devote myself as a full-time jewelry designer one day. Or not.

At least for now, I’m excited that I’m featured in Vogue. 🙂

Chloe’s Daisy event was held at Mosaic Glassworks shop.

They had a choice between a butterfly design or an owl design.

Chloe picked an owl.

She did a beautiful job all by herself. I was so tempted to help her make it. I literally had to hold my arms back from reaching in because it looked so fun! I think I’ll have to come back here with Shane later. 🙂

“mom” pendant

Custom pendant order by a client.

A customer emailed me asking me to design a “mom” pendant using  Korean alphabet. I was so proud how beautifully it came out.

Chloe made a Valentine’s day card booklet.

Andrew brought home cookies for the kiddies.

I noticed Shane began reading. His teacher said he’s really good with math too. Though, he’s still writing some numbers backwards. 🙂

Shane’s imaginary story.

He can read these words.

I felt this drawing was unfair.

Impressive drawings

snow day #4…or is it #5 ?

Friday, February 7th, 2014

I had a such productive day on this ice storm day at home. - I survived 3 hour conference call,

baked blueberry banana bread (for the first time!) and fed the family 3 square meals,

then helped Chloe make valentine’s day cards for her daisy scouts (10 cards) and her classmates (18 cards) while working from home.

What an icy day. Icicles hanging along the eaves of the house … beautiful.

quiet week

Thursday, December 26th, 2013

We had a quite Christmas day and let me tell you, it was the longest day. After opening the gifts and playing them for a while, then what? So we ate and ate and ate all day long. This morning we tried going skiing but that didn’t work out too well because we didn’t have the proper outfits… So we came back and ate some more.

I made smores for everyone after dinner tonight but no one was interested. I even put crushed peppermint candy to be creative.

So I ate them all. Like four of them. Then I was really done.

Chloe wanted to do an arts and craft project so I bought her a jello pack so she can make gum drops. It was actually her idea and she was so excited about it. When I saw her making little gum drops, I thought it would be fun to make hats for the marshmallows and that’s how these marshmallow family happened.

snow sculpture

Sunday, December 15th, 2013

Shane LOVES snow. He’s been outside for hours in the snow since yesterday.

Love this guy… If I could, I would carry him in my pocket and take him with me everywhere I go…

I thought we were making a snow man but Shane had a different vision.

He told me he wants to make a sculpture by himself.

Shane’s snow sculpture. He’s definitely a serious artist.

Chloe can be very shy outside of home so she’s super excited that she’s going to have her entire classmate of girls over. I know she really misses her friends from her previous school and had a rough time adjusting to a new environment so I’m hoping this would be a great way for her to open up and build closer friendships. Chloe said,”so, my friends will see my OTHER side today” with a big smile.

Andrew and I went back and forth about the idea of having the party at home or somewhere else, but in the end, I thought having it at home would be more special for everyone. Plus I love planning a girly party. 🙂

Nice to meet you my beautiful and sweet guests!

They are all equally so so so silly.

Thank goodness for my awesome helper/babysitter!

Does it look like an unicorn? I had some challenging requests by demanding customers…

Much needed beauty sleep…

This literally lasted a couple seconds.

Shane, eating candy canes by the fire and watching the girls.

Thank you so much for coming and celebrating Chloe’s birthday! ! !
