I had 2 separate dates with my kiddos this week. I wanted to talk to them individually about our move just to catch up outside of our elements. As a kindergarten graduation gift to Chloe, I took her to build-a-bear workshop.
Me: So Chloe, how do you feel about our move to the new house? Are you happy about it?
Chloe: Yes Mommy, I’m so excited!
Me: That’s great! But are you going to miss your friends?
Chloe: I’ll miss them but that’s okay. I’m going to invite all of my friends to my birthday party when we move.
Me: Â Uhm. Yeah. Who’s throwing you a birthday party?
Chloe: My assistant. You. (she laughs)
Me: Â (shaking my head)
Chloe: Okay. Okay. Seriously. Actually, I want to go on a vacation for my birthday instead of a party. Can we please go to Hawaii for my birthday? Or can we put a pool in the new house and we can have a pool party, (yappity yap yap yap…, blah blah blah,…)
Me: Ok. This conversation is going nowhere…
Chloe’s having a sleepover at her cousin’s for the first time tonight so it’s time for my date with Shane. First stop, a Lego store!
Then, some treats!
Third stop: Movies. We saw Despicable 2 and we both loved it!
Me: Shane, do you like our date so far?
Shane: Yes Mommy. Thank you for our date Mommy.
Me: You’re so sweet.
Shane: Mommy, you’re so beautiful. I love you so much.
Me: (melted to the ground)
