Our last stop was Arcadia Earth museum. This was kinda cool, but underwhelming. It was educational… the focus on the environment is what needs to be taken away from this experience… If a friend asked me if it’s worth the visit, I would say, no. Overall, we had a great time in the city, and the weather today couldn’t have been better so I’m thankful. I’m glad Shane still likes to hold hands when we walk. 🙂
We had some time left to walk around NYU area so we stopped at Washington SQ Park.
We had about an hour or so before our next stop, and Shane was getting restless, so we stopped for a coffee break at a cafe on McDougal st where my small latte was 6 bucks… Then when turned a corner on Broadway, we spotted Sour Patch Kids store… I let him get whatever he wanted not realizing he would scoop out 50lbs worth of candies… This made him happy more than anything today.
Shane: Woah, this is the best pork buns I’ve ever had in my entire life! Me: It’s so good! Wait… I made you pork buns before. Shane: Exactly. Me: … Ramen was good too but Shane was way more impressed with the pork buns.
I’m super excited that not only I get this rare opportunity to spend alone time with Shane, he’s actually been looking forward to going to the city with me. The last time I was in the city with just Shane was in 2012… Maybe he’s most excited about eating ramen, but I’m ok with that because I have a really fun day planned for him!
My mom and I got to spend a fun afternoon furniture shopping, then had the delicious meal at Faubourg in Montclair. The funny thing is I’m also meeting my friends here again tomorrow night. Haha I’m not mad about it!
Chloe’s going to Word of Life camp for a week! I’m sad but very excited for her! Praying that the Holy Spirit will guide these kids and come back spiritually fed, blessed and with new kindred friendships. Miss you so much already!! The house feels so quiet and empty with out you, Chloe. No one is asking me if I want to hear Harry Potter impressions…
Wife, Mother, jewelry designer & graphic designer /Creative Director, I am HaeWon Cadence Ryu. This is a glimpse into my life’s blessings, passion and inspiration.
This blog came to fruition after I began motherhood; I wanted to be able to capture every millestone of my two beautiful children - Chloe & Shane as they journey through their early years. Since the launch of my online jewelry site, cadencelee.com, I’ve come face-to-face with having to juggle multiple roles. As a result, I have decided to feature some of my designs and inspiration alongside postings of my precious family. For me, this is the perfect medium of work-life balance.
