Kids went off on their own to trick-or-treat with their friends after school today. I came home after dropping them off and turned on my kindle to read but then fell asleep within minutes. It was my kind of Halloween, the most relaxing kind…;)
My dad had a spinal surgery and thanks to God, it went successfully. He was in the hospital from Sunday to Thursday and we are very thankful for all those who prayed for him. Also very thankful for the nurses and the doctor for taking good care of my dad.
Meanwhile, it’s our 18th wedding anniversary today but after running errands and driving kids, we couldn’t make it to our dinner reservation so we came to Wegman’s instead to buy cheap wines and cheese to celebrate at home. Yay to us.
Chloe got invited to her friend’s Bat Mitzvah party and she’s beyond excited go with her friends! She found this dress online and I have to give her a credit for finding a very pretty dress on a budget! Have fun tonight~
When she couldn’t find a dress she wanted for the concert, I saw it as an opportunity to try to make her one. 🙂 With only three days away from the concert, I went to Jo-Ann, found a really pretty velvet fabric with rhinestones embedded and started sawing. Ta Da~ This is the second dress I made for her. (First one here) She really looks like a small lady here. My baby!
We are @ New York University this morning because Chloe’s performing at The Youth Music Festival this afternoon. She’s playing a duet, a piece called, All for One, One for All, composed by a NYU student. She’s been working hard for the last two months and we are so excited for this opportunity. Youth Music Festival is a collaborative way of sharing original new music by student composers at NYU, played by young musicians and their teachers.
Wife, Mother, jewelry designer & graphic designer /Creative Director, I am HaeWon Cadence Ryu. This is a glimpse into my life’s blessings, passion and inspiration.
This blog came to fruition after I began motherhood; I wanted to be able to capture every millestone of my two beautiful children - Chloe & Shane as they journey through their early years. Since the launch of my online jewelry site, cadencelee.com, I’ve come face-to-face with having to juggle multiple roles. As a result, I have decided to feature some of my designs and inspiration alongside postings of my precious family. For me, this is the perfect medium of work-life balance.
