mosaic class

Friday, February 28th, 2014

Chloe’s Daisy event was held at Mosaic Glassworks shop.

They had a choice between a butterfly design or an owl design.

Chloe picked an owl.

She did a beautiful job all by herself. I was so tempted to help her make it. I literally had to hold my arms back from reaching in because it looked so fun! I think I’ll have to come back here with Shane later. 🙂

hosting lunch

Saturday, February 22nd, 2014

We’re having some special friends over for a lunch today so I made:

Lobster cobb salad. I used 10 lobster tails in here.  Man, those tails are deceiving…

Israeli couscous with pine nuts and currants

Baked ziti

I served the lobster salad on rolls.

Our guest brought pretty plants for the house!

She made this awesome individual hanging glass planters for each kid!  I love this hanging garden. 🙂 They are so cute and beautiful. Thank Rachel!

“mom” pendant

Custom pendant order by a client.

A customer emailed me asking me to design a “mom” pendant using  Korean alphabet. I was so proud how beautifully it came out.

day 2

Sunday, February 16th, 2014

Today was a much better day for all of us. We decided we’re going back to the very beginners place, the magic carpet.

After a few runs here we all got on the lift again and went up to the mountain. Shane and I stuck together but Chloe gained  her confidence skiing with the girls and she did 9 runs on the lifts!!!!!

Thank you Wei’s and Lin’s for taking care of Chloe and teaching her! She was unstoppable!

On the other hand, I tried to teach Shane and we came down together… It took forever to come down because he kept falling . We saw all of our friends passing by twice while we’re trying to finish our first run. When we were almost to the bottom, he landed pretty hard on his head. I was so scared… I held him and we both cried. Andrew saw us crying sitting down in the snow on his way down, so he helped us get down. Luckily he was totally fine and after a few minutes, he was ready to back up again. But I was done. Done. I was clearly not good enough to teach him and go down with him again. I was exhausted and every bone in my body was hurting.

I was ready for my cocktail back in the lodge.

I made chili to warm us up after the cold day of skiing.

skiing down the belleayre mountain- day 1

Saturday, February 15th, 2014

We woke up to an another snowy day. We’re surrounded by snow everywhere we go!

Wait a minute… we didn’t get the memo that we’re wearing purple today…

So. Shane’s trying snowboarding for the first time today. I don’t know about this.

Oops, there he goes…

Andrew’s trying to teach Shane but it’s not going too well…

He’s trying!

Awww…

He looks happy though. (Just in this picture)

Chloe’s sticking to skiing with me.

We got on the lift and she was getting really nervous. It was a really long ride….

She felt pretty hard getting off the lift so she was really scared to ski down.

It took a long while to ski down but she did it! She didn’t want to go back up though because of the lift experience so we were done for the day after this.

The first day was tough for Chloe but she is ready to ski again tomorrow. 🙂

For Shane, he’s going back to skiing and I think tomorrow will be a better day. We’re going to find that purple team and resume the lesson…

ski trip!

Friday, February 14th, 2014

We’re excited to spend the long weekend skiing with friends here at Pine hill. This’s the first time skiing for Andrew and me since 2001… should be interesting.

We’re staying at this cozy little house 10 minutes away from Belleayre mountain.

We were greeted by this sweet face!

Girls were so happy to see each other. 🙂

They had lovely v-day cards for every one!

And I had special something for the grown-ups. 😉

I’ve been working as a freelancer for Julibox company since last year, which is a monthly subscription for curated cocktails. I was super excited to share this months box with my friends!

Claret cocktails – yummy yummy yummy!

Thanks Courtne!

What an awesome way to start the long weekend! 😉
