mini trip to dc

Tuesday, March 18th, 2014

We surprised the kids when we picked them up from school yesterday by announcing that we’re joining their dad’s business trip to DC. We drove down here late last night and they couldn’t be happier!

Good morning Washington!

That’s his “up to no good” look.

He’s been making paper airplanes and flying them all over the place.

Andrew’s working full day today and tomorrow so the kids and I are checking out some museums today.

We’re heading to National Museum of American History this morning!

dinner party

Saturday, March 15th, 2014

For appetizers, I did lots of differnet kind of cheese, bread, crackers, olives, dried and some fresh fruits and cured meats (basically no cooking required).

For side dish, I made crunch noodle salad

Honey porter glazed chicken skewers

Baked asian salmon with panko crust on top

Our guest brought this wonderful flourless double chocolate cake with homemade raspberry sauce. Yummy way to finish the night. Thank you all for coming!

piano session

Saturday, March 15th, 2014

Kids started piano lessons about a month ago. They love playing but when it comes to practicing everyday it’s been an endeavor. It just one more thing trying to achieve in a couple of hours before bedtime. ;P

We’re having guests over for a dinner tonight so I picked up some flowers to brighten the mood.

Shane’s so thankful!

Peanut butter & Jelly flower
Grilled cheese bugwich

Kids drinks:
Water

Adult drinks:

Bear (Lol, she means beer!)

So funny she’s offering us beer at 9 am.

festive sunday

Sunday, March 9th, 2014

Today, I’m going Tex Mex style.

I made Rock shrimp Torta with serrano grapefruit salsa and cabbage slaw to go with it.

Since I made the shrimp really spicy, I also made chicken salad with avocado and cranberry in pita bread just for the little ones.

My happy plate. It was delicious! #blowmyownhorn 😉

I love anyone who comes and plays our piano. Thanks for coming to play with us!

After the guests left, we played monopoly for the first time. I loved playing board games with kids! Wow, this is a beginning of a new chapter.

Sunday, March 2nd, 2014

So Andrew’s off to Miami and I decided to have some much needed quality girl time. Sorry Shane….wherever you are hiding.

The little girls planned a “Let it go” show. They even try to sell tickets.

Bravo girls! Thanks for the entertainment!

It snowed in our living room…
