Chloe started reading Harry Potter series last month and already she’s almost done with the third book. What a velocious reader!

She’s grabbing that book every chance she gets. I found her in the balcony reading this morning at 5:30 am.

Loving the clean blue water!

Take out from Star noodle to feed the hungry crowd.

So funny to see kids trying to take pictures with their i-touch… 🙂

This guys name is Keiko and he’s the most friendly one here. He says “Aloha, hi, bye”.

Soaking up all the goodness.

Chloe’s happy dance

Cutest thing on earth! ! !

Back to the pool

I joined a water aerobics class.

That icy is bigger than Chloe’s head.

Black Sand Beach!

The waves were so strong but my fearless Chloe kept wanting to go deeper!

We bought delicious banana breads at this cute local store. Must eat!

Dinner: Hot dog and pork sandwich. Not much to choose from around here but it’s doable.

I’m actually standing at the edge of a cliff…making Andrew very nervous. Though, you can’t really tell it in the picture.

Finally done with the cliffs!

Back to our hotel. It’s been an amazing day…

I was so proud of my kids today. Even through the long drives, they really got a kick out of the whole sight seeing experience and exploring places. 🙂

I’m really loving this trip…

road to hana { part 3 }

Here we are at the ʻOheÊ»o Gulch, also known as the “Seven Sacred Pools”. This series of waterfalls and pools is located inside the Haleakala National Park.

Incredible looking tree

Unfortunately the pools were closed due to high level water, so no swimming today. However we still enjoyed the short hiking trail overlooking cascade.

Driving continues… Hāna Highway is very winding and narrow and passes over many bridges which are only one lane wide.

The road has some truly terrifying moments if you are afraid of heights… (explains Andrew’s face). On my side, I’m just enjoying these fantastic views.

Uh uh…

We’re right on the edge!

We’re taking a small pie break.

Coconut cream pies and key lime pie from Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop. Worth the hype.

road to hana { part 1 }

Monday, April 21st, 2014

I took over 400 pictures just today on our way to Hana. The view was jaw dropping spectacular.

We started the journey  through backroad known as “the uninsured ” part of the roads which was extremely narrow, curvy and dangerous cliff roads.

Maui’s winery

One of many giant trees we saw.

We drove through thick clouds and periods of rain.

happy easter

Sunday, April 20th, 2014

We got all dressed up for an Easter service.

Chloe and I got matching dresses from Lilly Pulitzer.

One of the reasons we’re here in Hawaii is to fulfill one of Andrew’s bucket lists. Bring his mom. Check.

We had an amazing easter service at this local church. We even sang hymns in Hawaiian language (‘ôlelo Hawai’i).

Beautiful flower arrangements…

They were so warm and inviting. All of us got welcomed by big hugs.

Afterwards we went to an Arts and craft show nearby.
