Tuesday, May 13th, 2014mother’s day
Sunday, May 11th, 2014Kids and Andrew thought last Sunday was mother’s day and they made me breakfast in bed last weekend. While Andrew tried to bank on it and sleep in this morning, I heard my sweet Chloe insisting that she makes me breakfast again.
I got so many cards from kids!
“specks of sands…” I LOVE YOU!
Let me tell you about this sweet girl Chloe. She got really sick on Friday night and threw up multiple times that night. I think she may have eaten too much at school event… I was worried that she may not make it to her friends birthday party the next day and she’s been looking forward to it so much. But Chloe was worried about something else. While she was vomiting, she looked at me with a deep concerned look and said, “Mommy, what if I don’t get better by mother’s day? “Â My heart just melted on that bathroom floor…
Shane made me a candle holder.
Shane made me hearts with legos.
After church, we went to NJ botanical garden.
Shane made me a ring!
Shane took my camera and took a picture of us. (impressive!) And Chloe photobombed.
Of course Shane had to do the same. Wow, my kids are getting really good with my camera!
Shane found this pretty flowers in our backyard. So pretty.
happy saturday
Saturday, May 10th, 2014I stopped by Whole foods yesterday and they had massive selections of tulips and peonies.
Lilac flower is from our tree in the backyard.
Chloe was invited to a “rock star” theme birthday party and got a makeover.
Brunch at Sook Pastry
Chicken arugula wrap for lunch
chloe’s school concert
Friday, May 9th, 2014The entire first graders sang together this morning. They did a wonderful job singing.
I bawled my eyes out watching my baby girl not looking like a baby anymore. She’s really grown…
I was beyond impressed by their fantastic performance. Hats off to all of you!
After the concert, we came to her class where the kids did presentations on their countries.
Other parents brought in their traditional food…except for me.
Chloe did an awesome job representing France. 🙂
We’re so proud of you!!!
korean food
Thursday, May 8th, 2014There’s nothing like homemade kimbop
especially when you can make it organic. Not very pretty looking but they are tasty.
Chloe’s class is learning about different countries and each kid chose a country they want to learn about. They started the project a few months ago and finally they are doing a presentation tomorrow to parents. Chloe chose France. Her reason was because of its fashion and food. I was impressed to say the least. On the other hand, I was disappointed that she didn’t want to choose Korea and she didn’t want me to bring Korean food to her class. 🙁 I originally was going to make them for her class but after the family vote, we had these for our dinner tonight.
home
Sunday, May 4th, 2014We’re enjoying being at home after the vacation followed by (a long) work/school week. It was hard for all of us to get back in the regular schedule while dealing with the jet-lag.
Today’s been a nice and quiet day… Kids and Andrew spent the afternoon in the family room watching Harry Potter movies while I worked on painting artworks and also catching up on my DVR…. A perfectly relaxing day. 🙂
For lunch, I made tuna fish sandwich with avocado, celery, fuji apples, red onions, gold raisins and dried cranberries. I think it’s the best tunafish sandwich in my opinion. 🙂
spring in the backyard
Saturday, May 3rd, 2014Spring is my favorite season because it reminds me of God’s creation and that there is new life after death because of Christ.
It’s so lovely to see blooms are popping out on bushes and trees, signaling the spring. It is an amazing thing to witness things coming alive before my very eyes.
This is our first spring in this house so I’m just so curious to see what else is blooming in the backyard and around the house!
lunch date
Thursday, May 1st, 2014I didn’t have the best day at work today. In fact, it was one of those days you wish it didn’t happen. But it did. SO. . . I opened a bottle of wine and decide to enjoy the rest of the day.
Shane had a kindergarten screening at his new school this afternoon so I had a chance to have lunch with him at home.
I made pasta with clam sauce.
My handsome date.
