house updates
Monday, October 21st, 2013I’m slowly decorating the house and here’s some of the photos. I framed some of my photographs from Africa, Paris and Alaska along with some art works.
Found this credenza on a craigslist. It’s my first time buying something that was posted on craigslist and I’m not really sure if it’s a good buy or not… paid $300 including shipping. Love it.
This was a big splurge: The carpet from ABC Carpet. Andrew and I don’t agree on many things when it comes to decorating the house. But this carpet, when I picked it out to show him, he immediately was sold. This was a winner! I also got this gold ottoman from One Kings Lane. (Which He had no comments about . ;))
This art work is Shane’s drawing of our old house. So sweet. Now we have our old house in our new home.
Finally finished family photo gallery in our upstairs lounge area.
Two ottomans from vintage store in Nyack, NY. They are perfect sittings for enjoying the fall weather from the porch.
We have new visitors this week.
Hope these ducks stay for a while.
oyster bash
Sunday, October 20th, 2013My goodness, this is really good bloody Mary.
Thanks for taking me to Oyster heaven!
He took a picture of me eating, so I did too. 🙂
Got to meet celebrity chief, John Besh.
Great music,
fantastic drinks and oysters shared with an awesome friend on a beautiful autumn day in the city. Sans kids. (No offense kids. ;))
I needed this to sober up to go home.

dinner party
Saturday, October 19th, 2013I’m hosting a dinner party and I’m so excited to use our dining room for the first time.
I found these awesome looking grey pumpkins at a farmer’s market called cinderella pumpkins (who knew?) and that’s how the color inspiration came for the table setting. I bought small white pumpkins and some regular pumpkins to go along with them and I painted in grey and metallic gold.
{ Candlesticks from Serena & Lily, • Dinner plates from Anthropologie, • Sterling silverware from hand-me-down from my mom, •Crystal wine glasses from vintage find in Nyack, NY, • Window blind used as a table runner from Ikea,  Placemats and napkins from west elm }
Ready to party~
