perfect peach

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Kids really enjoyed eating all kinds of Korean fruits and their favorite were these white peaches. It’s none like how they taste in US. They are so so juicy and even sweeter than honey.

Cable car ride to Nam San tower.

This was one of my destinations I wanted to take my kids to see. My dad used to take my brother and I when we were kids to get some exercises on Sunday mornings before church.

It’s quite an exercise!

gyeong bok palace

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

Today, we visited gyeong bok gung, a royal palace located in Seoul. First constructed in 1394 and reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the palace, Gyeongbokgung, translates in English as “Palace of Shining Happiness.”

shane’s first salon experience

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

Shane was in desperate need of some professional haircut. So after lunch we bribed him with ice cream and convinced him that going to a hair salon will be such a fun experience.

I spend more than half an hour negotiating with him (and threatening him a little) to just sit in the seat.

Right after this shot, he tried climb out of the chair and screamed bloody murder. He only got his half of hair cut so I ended up trimming his hair again when we got home. Oh well…not bad for the first time.

My sister-in-law and I came out for some late night snacks after the kids went to bed.

Fireworks by the beach afterwards… It was a perfect date.^^

clam digging in the afternoon

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

This afternoon we are going clam digging at low tie which occurs around 3pm. At low tide, a playground about 300 meters long opens along the sea wall.

We weren’t very successful with finding clams but we had tons of fun walking on the mud, and just digging around for anything we can find under pebbles and rocks.
