shane’s superhero birthday party

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Super Shane turns 3 today!!!
This morning when he woke up I said to him, “happy birthday Shane!”. He looked at me with a bright smile and said, “happy birthday, mommy!”. 🙂

Since we just came back from our Korea trip and with starting school and adjusting to new schedules, we decide to keep the party small.
We had Andrew’s brother’s family and my-mother in law over for dinner and some treats.

Cousin Emily (4) & Joshua (7)

He made this crown at school today.

Happy birthday my son. I’m so grateful that God gave me a son like you. I love you so very much.

birthday breakfast

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

My mom always made sure that all of our family members are well fed in the mornings, especially on their birthdays. I couldn’t let her down. It’s not easy making breakfast in the morning when we have to run out the door by 8 am with two packed lunches. I didn’t have energy to cook last night after setting up for his party, so I rushed everything this morning. Hope you’re proud of me, mom! 😉

I want to say that the kids were grateful for my effort and were happy to eat…but no… there were some frustrating moments during breakfast because they didn’t want certain things or the soup was too hot or they wanted different cups…. In the end, they finished all of it and I felt my mission was accomplished.

Happy 3rd birthday my beloved son!

Chloe, looking so mature and smart in her uniform.

first day of school

Monday, September 12th, 2011

Chloe starts kindergarten today! And she has to wear school uniforms. Being a fashion lover she is, I anticipate this to be problematic… but so far she’s actually seem pretty happy about it. So far.

And Shane starts pre school! He’s grown so much this past summer. My babies are growing up…

no words to describe…

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Kids hadn’t seen Andrew for over 3 weeks so they are very happy to be with him this weekend. They are recovering pretty well from the jet leg thankfully and we’re busy getting ready for the first day of school on Monday. Chloe starts kindergarten!!

last day in korea

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

This has been an incredible visit. It was such a joy to watch my kids and my nephews play with each other and have so much fun together.  My last visit to Korea was 7 years ago and I don’t know when we’ll come back again… hopefully not too later. I’m so glad we got to build so many great memories… taking a family roadtrip to the countryside, going to the beach, and experience clam digging was one of the best parts of the trip.

Chloe had a several playdates and sleepovers at my brother’s house and she really did not want to go back to the States. She was bawling on the plane back to the States and when we landed she was sobbing again, asking me if we can go back to Korea. 🙁

I’m very happy and proud that the kids learned to speak Korean. Actually they’re mixing it up with English so I should really say that they speak Konglish now.

Thank you so much for the amazing time… We’ll miss all of you so much…
