soho children’s museum of arts

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

We did some cool art projects at the museum.

Chloe’s masterpiece

We walked around the soho area with the kids and it was nice. Now that Shane’s old enough to know not want to constantly run away from us, we can finally enjoy our walks in the city.

Then again, now Chloe wants to be carried all the time.

These two were talking about mermaids, princesses, dresses, evil Ursula, and seashells…

while Shane and I focused on eating.

unexpected date night

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Our angel friends OFFERED to babysit our kids this afternoon so Andrew and I can go out for a pre-Valentine’s day dinner. Thank you~~~

Drinks on the  rooftop terrace at the Peninsula.
Expensive drinks, but the view definitely made up for it. It snowed a bit, looking up in the sky in the middle of the city felt… well, expensive.

Dinner at Milos

Looks like kids had fun too. 🙂

They even brought the kids Valentine’s day cards and goodies for everyone.

Thank you uncle Danny and Aunt Renna for playing with our kids and taking care of them!~ You guys ROCK! 😉

view from edgewater

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

We had a low key weekend. One of my best friends from NY visited us this afternoon so we gave a ride to the ferry station in Edgewater. The view of the city is stunning from here. This is where Andrew and I first lived together when we got married. This is also where we saw the horrific 911 happen 10 years ago. I can’t believe that was ten years ago…

The kids had fun running around.

Come on, picture time!

birthday wish

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

My birthday wish came true this year. Andrew got a new job, we’ve been all praying for! Even Chloe prayed every night for this. Praise God…
Hopefully this new job will allow him to be home earlier, which means he’ll see the kids during the weekdays more often, which means I can finally get some break! It’s a huge relief for me to know that he’ll be around more to help me with the kids and the house.

Now, my next wish list is to find a trusty person to care for my kids after school…
Anyone??

forgiveness

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

It’s been a long day for me and it’s only 2 pm. Kids’ school is closed due to an ICE storm so I’m trying to juggle work and kids today. I had to break layers of ice on the car this morning and it was brutal. To top it off, while I got a call from my parents wishing me a happy birthday this morning, Chloe came to me to tell me that Shane was playing in the toilet. I dropped everything and ran downstairs to the bathroom. The bathroom became a pool. He put a diaper in the toilet after Chloe went potty, then flushed it. Many times. I grabbed the wet kid and went straight to the bathtub upstairs and gave that screaming kid a shower. He was so upset that I stopped his fun experiment. When he finally calmed down and stopped crying, he said, “I forgive you, mommy”

Oh, and he also dropped a box full of Chloe’s tiny rubber bands on the floor.

sigh…

my little super heroes

I have no idea where they came from.

father and daughter moment

We’re stuck in the snow and running out of things to do in the house…

back to the snow

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

I came back to the piles of snow last night. Wow. Seriously?

They love to attack dad with snowballs.

Oh, how I missed this!

last day

Saturday, January 29th, 2011

got up at 6 a.m. (even though I had all the space in the large bed to spread out, I stuffed my sides with pillows to fall asleep. I actually missed my munchkins pushing and shoving next to me in bed…)

went to the Mac Expo,

and stopped by China town for late lunch.

lunch at 5 pm.

I met up with my nephew and niece for the first time this evening!

we took a BART to downtown Berkeley to see my cousin perform.

The band sounded really great! They play what’s known as raggae fusion music, sort of funky and cool.

What an amazing trip I had… I was so happy to see my cousin and her beautiful family during my visit to S.F. Thank you for making this trip so special. And see you in Cabo!~~
