playing and praying

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Chloe: Mommy, I have holy spirit in my heart. Feel it! It’s really warm!
me: Oh, really? That’s great!
Chloe: I do, mommy. I want to pray. Can we pray?
me: Of course, we can.
Chloe: Dear God, thank you for today. Thank you for the warm food mommy made for us and our cozy house. Please send a bus to Africa so she (our sponsored child) can come here and live with us. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.

I have been pulling many late nights preparing for the new collection debuting in April. Thanks R & D for staying (insanely) late with me last night to get things done. Sort of felt like back in college with classmates pulling all nighters… although my body certainly didn’t feel the same this morning. To top it, Shane who normally has been getting up around 7:30 a.m. got up at 6 a.m. this morning. Seriously, HOW do they know??

Today we did another photo shoot and went really well. Just a few more days…

My beautiful niece modeled for me on Sunday for my new collection. It’s a definite plus to be married to a good looking family. Thank you Christine for such fabulous photo shoot!

Shane painted his nails with Chloe’s hello kitty nail polish. All by himself. Both hands. All ten finger nails. Without any drips on the table.

sick week

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Kids have been taking turns getting sick this week. I stayed home on Tuesday with Shane because he had a high fever. We went to school to drop off Chloe then Shane and I came back home, which made him super happy. He was in a such good mood that I hardly noticed him while cooking. He went upstairs by himself and I found him playing quietly in his train table and looking at books. Then we enjoyed drawing together and watching a Thomas train movie. I thought, wow, heaven, so quiet and peaceful with just one child….

Then he took his nap and he woke up with a very cranky mood. From 1 pm on, I had to hold him. He can be so difficult sometimes… I dare say… even more difficult than Chloe. He cries for vitamins, then candy after candy and cries when I give him timeout then cries if I don’t hold him. I was exhausted. By 4pm, I wished Chloe was here to help. Chloe likes the idea of helping me so she tries to be a good sister. That may not last more than 10 min. but you gotta love her for trying.

So we picked up Chloe at 4pm and it was a disaster. Now I had two cranky kids. Chloe was beginning to catch a cold.

1:30 am: wrapping up

The big day, first rehearsal at 8 am, then the real presentation was at 2 pm. We finished by 5 pm. Then to the airport by 6 and got home around mid-night.

This was one of the hardest business trips! I’m glad everything went great and all in all, it was a successful trip. I’m just a little bit tired, that’s all. Just a little…
