Today was MY day off. I had some appointments in the morning with suppliers for my new baby jewelry line, but after that, I had the whole afternoon to myself. I started out my day with breakfast cupcake from my favorite bakery, Magnolia!

I passed by Time Square area and it reminded me of my old advertising days when I was working 12-14 hours a day. I DO NOT miss the hours but I do miss the exciting work I used to do. My solo work that I did for beautyjungle.com was featured here for a couples weeks in December 1999 turning to 2000 Millennium and I made my friends stand here in the coldest night to watch my 12 second work of fame. It was the screen above the Europa cafe. Good times…

After my meetings, I met up with my hubby for a lunch date at a cozy Japanese restaurant.

Then I spent the rest of the afternoon at MoMa. I love taking kids to museums BUT I love it even MORE coming by myself. Let the creative charging begin…

Chloe went to the kitchen to get some water but then she was taking too long to come back to the living room. So when I peaked in, Chloe was cleaning the floor because she spilled water. How cute is she! 🙂

Chloe loves this paper doll dress-up project. She can spend hours doing this and she knows exactly how to mix and match an outfit.

The entire family has been sick with a cold…

but that has not stopped these two munchkins from monkeying around!

Chloe's bed time ritual takes about one and an half hour every night which includes the conversation below.

Chloe: I'm sick so… I sleep in mommy's bed?
me: No, you have to sleep in your own bed.
Chloe: Daddy's not coming home today? I sleep in mommy's bed with you?
Me: Yes he is coming home today. Go back to your bed.
Chloe: I had a bad dream. Can I sleep in your bed?
me: Nice try. You have to sleep in your own bed.
Chloe: I sleep in my own bed, I get a giant lollipop?
me: Chloe, go to bed.
Chloe: Aaaaaalright mummy. Have a good dream! Have a good night! Have a good nap! Have a good weekend! Good night! I love you!

10 mins later…

I hear footsteps going into my room and we have to do it all over again….

Shane's got his first timeout for pushing Chloe out of her chair so he could —> climb on to her table to —->get to the sofa to —-> jump. Chloe hung around with Shane during his time out, just like Shane used to do for Chloe when she got a time out.

Every morning she wakes up and the first thing she does is pick out her clothes to wear. So much time is spent on discussing her outfits, negotiating and putting on and off her summer dresses (she ALWAYS wants to wear a dress), which is usually layered over a sweater or turtle neck shirts with warm pants. If she really can't agree with what I recommend for her, I would have to throw in one of MY necklaces to convince her. Otherwise, she won't budge and she'll be late for daycare, which means I'll be late for work.

Even though she lives, breathes and dreams in a pink, she insists that her favorite color is purple.

happy new year!

We woke up bright and early and there was a full breakfast waiting for us. My mom had made traditional rice cake soup, beef bbq with various vegetable side dishes, and grilled fish. As long as I remember, that's how it's been at my parent's house growing up every new year's breakfast.

By 8 a.m., we had a full meal and were stuffed. The kids and I then got dressed in Korean traditional outfits to formally wish my parents a happy new year. We taught our kids to bow down to their grandparents giving respect and wishing them good luck and in return, they both got money. (hence my favorite holiday growing up!)

Afterwards, Andrew, Chloe and I went to a playground nearby to play with snow where we made Chloe's first snowman.
