Sunday, May 9th, 2010date with chloe
Sunday, May 9th, 2010While Andrew took Shane to a park, Chloe and I went to a paint your own pottery place, called Doing Dishes in Montclair, NJ. I used to make (drag) Andrew to these kind of places with me, but now I don't have to! I have my willing partner who is as happy as a clam to do art projects with me!
I forgot to take pictures of our final pieces before we left, so I'll be posting the finished products next week when we picked them up. They were actually mother's day gifts for the kids' grandparents, but I forgot the fact that we have to leave the pieces to be fired in kiln and that it takes 6 days. Oh well…

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010dinner tonight
Tuesday, May 4th, 2010I made this but all Ms. Chloe wanted was mac & cheese for dinner. Ahhhh….rrrrr!!!!
Shane gobbled it up as always but Chloe was very opinionated. If she give me a hard time and does not finish her dinner, which is often these days, we take away her bed time story. We would still do our usual Jesus story book or ABC Bible Verses book with her every night, but we'd say "NO PRINCESS STORY!". That gets her really really upset! This princess story is my made up character named princess Oee. When Chloe was younger and couldn't quiet pronounce her name, she used call herself, Oee. I would use this character's story around what Chloe's day was like. If there was an incident where she was misbehaving, I use the story to re live the moment and go over what the consequences are and how to properly behave for the next time it happens. This same goes for when she does something well, in which case the princess gets awarded. She LOVES this story time and she smiles when she realizes that she can related to the story. She kind of knows it's about her, but also kind of does not. For these reasons, her bedtime routine takes FOREVER, especially if this opens up discussions and Q & A sessions. It can last, well for over an hour which is what happened tonight. She finally went to bed at 9pm. We had a lot to talk about.
