she went.

She did potty #2 last Thursday for the very first time. Her nanny left Chloe’s poop in the potty for me to see when I came home from work. Uhm, thanks Jen. I told Chloe, that I want to buy her a present. She didn’t pause for a second to tell me what she wanted.
She wanted purple Crocs. Her best friend Tirra has them apparently. I cannot believe Chloe is already asking for things that her friends have. She is so into shoes and knows the different types of shoes, "…this is my tennis shoes, that’s my sandal, that’s my jellyshoes, my boots, flip flops… they’re not comfortable but I want to wear them!"  She got the flip flops as a present from Eura but since they are big on her, Chloe fell on her knees a few time at daycare. However, she keeps insisting on wearing them even though she tells me that they are uncomfortable.

Her nanny pointed out that Chloe is compromising fashion over comfort. ALREADY!?!?

Every other night, Chloe and I do projects together before bed. These are from last week.

Chloe and I water the plants almost every evening. I have to… because Chloe never forgets. She loves to help me garden even if it’s 100 degrees outside.

Chloe’s foot prints

As soon as she saw the water, she raaaan in. A big wave swept her off and she went under…she pulled herself up laughing so happily.

They have the same legs.

The other night, when I walked into the living room, Andrew was trying to discipline Chloe about asking for things politely. She wanted a glass of water and she didn’t say the "magic" word. So Andrew was going on and on about mannerism and it was getting little bit repetitive. Chloe was looking at him quietly then she looked at me and said, "what’s he saying, mommy?"
I tried not to laugh so much and told her to listen to daddy. Then she goes, "aaagain?"

My favorite time with Shane is after bath, which is right before his bed time. It’s just the two of us during that time and he gets so happy and playful, crawling all over the place laughing and giggling. He’s extra ticklish in his armpit areas so when I go for it, he just squeaks really loud and doesn’t know what to do with himself.

He’s a funny guy. He loves to play hide and seek (weather we are playing with him or not), and loves to eat anything he can get his hands on. If you drop anything in our place, it’ll most likely ends up in his mouth before anyone can see it. I’ve taken out an ant from his mouth, a piece of magazine cover, to Chloe’s hair bands to name a few. When I spot him eating something and I ask what’s in his mouth, he closes his mouth really tight and runs the other way.

Even though he’s usually very gentle and easy going, he’s shown us his temper too. When I took a pretzel from his hand after his long and tiring pursuit to snatch it from his sister’s hand, he got mad at me. He turned red and cried on the top of his lung, falling backwards on his back. I couldn’t believe it… over a pretzel… he became a beast.

He loves to follow his sister around and looks at her for encouragement. When he’s achieve something new, he looks for his sister for a praise which I think it’s so endearing.

He can say and mean Umm-ma (mommy), A-ppa(daddy), Kka-ka(snack, go figure..), so far.

Eura came over with her son Rilee this afternoon. It was great seeing them and seeing our kids play together. As they were leaving our house, Chloe climbed up into their SUV to leave with them. Why is she always trying to attempt a getaway from us??

We had a fantastic time with you guys and we look forward to the next time!

she thinks!

Friday, August 7th, 2009

We were driving back from church this morning and Chloe was unusually quiet. Normally she’s very chatty and and is usually singing in the car. So I asked her,

Me: Chloe, what are you doing? why are you so quiet?

Chloe: …

Me: Chloe, are you okay?

Chloe: I’m thinking. (with meaningful smile on her face)

Me: hahaha, you’re thinking?

Chloe: yes mommy, I’m thinking!

Me: oh… what are you thinking about?

Chloe: (after a small pause) one…two…three…four…five…six…seven…eight…nine…ten…eleven…twelve…thirteen…another thirteen…and another thirteen…that’s mommy’s, that’s Chloe’s, that’s Shane’s, that’s daddy, jennifer, nancy, granny,

I don’t know what she was thinking or counting but she sure looked like she was entertained by her own thoughts judging by her smile.
