storytime

Friday, November 13th, 2009

I took the kids to a storytime event at GRC this afternoon. Our church invited the author Sally Loyd Jones to come and read her The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name. This is one of our family’s favorite book to read. She was just as lovely as I imagined and it was a delightful experience to meet her!

Chloe went to a birthday party

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Chloe was invited to Sydney’s 4th birthday party at Power House studio in Paramus today. The theme of the party was "playtime forest with milo the dragon & friends" Fun times…

Chloe sat in her seat and finished TWO slices of pizza, missing the craft activity. She was glued to the bench until she was done.

We’re so happy to celebrate your birthday with you, Sydney. Happy birthday beautiful girl!!

Chloe and I are busy every other night making stuff, weather it’s a hair piece, a necklace or a sticker button. After dinner is our craft time together. She’s wearing her new felt ball necklace and a purple polka dot feather hair piece, our recent creations.

sleepless in new jawsey

Chloe’s been waking up in the middle of the night calling for me, wanting to come sleep with us in our bed. It slowly started when Andrew would come home late at night from work, missing the kids, he would go give kisses and hugs to Chloe and if she "accidentally" woke up, he would bring her to our room. This happened a few times and after that, it’s been hard for both me and Andrew because Chloe got used to the routine of waking up at night to come sleep between us. What made it hard is that she sprawls out horizontally and often kicks Andrew in the head while I get pushed to the edge of the bed. This has been going on for over two months. Do you new parents hear me?! 2 MONTHS, so beware. Truth is, I can’t ignore her calling at night because I don’t want her to wake up Shane so I rush her to her room with my eyes barely open and grab her to bring her to our room. Why do I do this? Because I’m SO tired and I’m not conscious enough to discipline her. SO, after many talks, pleads, bargains, threats and negotiations I decide to buy her out. Some people might call it bribe, but I call it a REWARD system. I’m so desperate…

me: hey chloe, if you sleep in your own bed tonight, I’ll give you a lollipop tomorrow. what do you think?

chloe: lollipop? (she doesn’t seem so thrilled which is shocking as she’s always asking for one)

me: yeah lollipop! … TWO lollipops. i’ll give you TWO if you sleep here until tomorrow morning!

chloe: no… i don’t want lollipop…

me: what?!?! you don’t want it?

chloe: no… i don’t need it. i go trick or treating and I get my OWN candy. no thank you.

celebrating 8 years together

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

We’ve been married for 8 years and been together for 10 years. We had our first date back in May 2000 and been inseparable since then. Tonight after work, I went to pick up my cute husband at work, then we went to Mas in Greenwich Village to have a cozy celebratory dinner.

pumpkin pickin

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

We went apple and pumpkin picking this weekend in Warwick, NY. Chloe had fun getting her first face painting and both kids really enjoyed eating apples from the trees.

Shane kept wondering off somewhere at the farm. Now that he’s walking he doesn’t want to be held or even hold hands and wants to be free.

would you vote for our kids?
