While I was making breakfast and lunch for Chloe this morning,

my buddy Shane hung out with me in the kitchen, cruising around.

six months have passed

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

My parents are leaving tomorrow. SIX MONTHS, they put their lives on hold in Korea and stayed with us to help out… Every morning around 5 a.m. they would get Shane  so we can get some more sleep and cooked a warm breakfast for Chloe while I got ready for work. We had the luxury of sleeping in on weekends because of them. The lists goes on… can’t begin to describe how much we’ll miss them and how grateful we are to them. I know the kids will miss them tremendously as well. Thank you so much mom & dad! We love you so much!! :*(

nice package

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

After long hours of meetings, as a team building activity, we played Bocce ball at the resorts tennis courts. I’ve never heard nor played this game before until today and I have to say, when you get a group of highly competitive people, any simple game can turn into a high energy activity. The groups were divided into groups of 4, and first prize was a package to this resort, inclusive of a spa package and meals. That said, everyone had already thrown their balls and I was the very last person to go. In order for us to win, I basically needed to knock out or hit another team’s ball, which is very hard to do. I threw the ball and did just that…we won the game! I started screaming and jumping up and down like a little school girl, then heard cheering and clapping which made me look around to realize alot of people had been watching. I was so focused, I had no idea.

Anyway, I’m grateful and it’s a perfect present for my family since we weren’t really thinking about a vacation this year due to our monthly childcare spending being doubled with two kids this year having to hire a new nanny and continuing with the daycare. But now, I’m very excited about coming back here with my beautiful family! Oh how I miss them so much…

trip to naples

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

I left last night for a business trip to Naples, Florida and flew out of Newark just in time before the big snow storm hit. What a difference a couple of hours in flight makes… the weather is gorgeous, sunny, although it’s a bit windy but hey, its not snowing here.

I miss the kids A LOT. I miss the kisses, hugs and their smell…I kept having anxious thoughts but I knew they were in good hands. My parents are leaving next week to return to their home and that’s when I’ll be in panic mode. For now, I should enjoy the sleeping in until 7 a.m. sleeping through the night, sit down meals, and the nice weather here in Florida. I love the place we are staying in. A few shots of the resort for inspirations…

about the boy

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

At 5 months:

1. Rolls front to back effortlessly. Changing  his diapers has become challenging.
2. Giggles and laughs at anything that makes a sound.
3. If you smile at him, he ALWAYS smiles back at you.
4. He figured out how to put his whole fist in his mouth and anything else he can grab. Now he’s working on shoving both hands at the same time.
5. Breast-fed & formula fed (def. prefers breast over bottle); when I bottle feed him instead of nursing, he always fusses in the beginning but he doesn’t complain when someone else feeds him bottles. hmmm…it’s like he can smell me.
6. Can sit still for 5 seconds by himself before he growls and twists his body out of his chair
7. Sleeps through the night (from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Yes, I’m back to waking up at 5 a.m. )
8. Definitely ready for solid food. He immitates eating when he sees us eat.
9. He stares, quite intensely, memorizing faces, especially mine.:)
10. Loves music. He also tries to sing along when he hears vocals.
12. Takes catnaps at home, but in his stroller outside he can sleep for hours at a time.
13. He’s very chatty, especially in the morning.
14. When you put your hand out to him, he reached in and places his hands on yours wanting to be held.
15. He’s only gotten hit by his sister twice. The first time was by mistake and the second time was on purpose when Chloe was trying to watch Dora, the explorer show. Shane was sitting at arms length from Chloe making gaga noises, so without hestitation she lightly hit him to shut him up. Honestly it didn’t seem like it hurt that much but he whaled and cried very sadly. I think his feelings were hurt.
16: … He’s Mr. Haewon (says Andrew)

chloe sings

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Just about a month ago, we noticed Chloe can sing! She memorized quiet of few songs like ‘twinkle twinkle little star’, ‘alphabet song’ ‘oh mcdonald’, ‘row row row your boat’, etc. Tonight, as we were all sitting in the living room having a conversation after dinner, Chloe started distributing her shinny metallic papers to my parents, Andrew and myself. Then, she stood in the middle of the room and just like an orchestra conductor with a baton, she started raising and lowering her arm that held the metallic paper straight up and down as she was singing twinkle twinkle little star, dictating to all of us to start lifting and lowering our metallic papers in sync. It was so out of the blue and we were all laughing so hard. Where did she learn this? It was harilous and sooooooo darn cute!!

cupcake who?

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

We had a very busy day today. We had a doctor’s visit this morning and we found out that Chloe has an ear infection and Shane has Bronchiolitis… my poor babies.:(
Then in the afternoon we went to our friend James & Jinsun’s baby shower. Between socializing and catching up with friends, Andrew and I lost count on how many cupcakes Chloe was eating. Seriously, everytime I saw her she was grabbing them!

and here’s my cupcake queen now.

Congratulations James & Jinsun on your new bundle of joy to come!
