we’ve had bright days…

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

and we’ve had miserable days like the past couple of days. Chloe and Shane both have a bad cold. My mom’s been sick for several days now and I’m beginning to catch on. Both kids were crying last night. Andrew slept in Chloe’s room and Shane kept me up all night. He kept waking up every half an hour because of his congestion. Our house is a mess. I’m wearing the same shirt for the last two days that has Chloe’s mucus and Shane’s throw-up. I also have a grape jam stain on my shoulder which looks like blood, thanks to Chloe. I look like I just came back from a war zone.

some lunch

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

I had to run errands all morning and afterwards I went for lunch at Neiman Marcus cafe with my mom and Shane. He was amazing. He was awake when we sat at our table, then he might as well said, mom I’ll sleep quietly so you guys can enjoy lunch. He closed his eyes and slept through our lunch. It was such a treat to be able to sit and enjoy the meal, without having to feed anyone, picking up food and utensils off the floor, calming a screaming child (ahem, Chloe!), and apologizing to waiters for a broken plate. Yes! That actually happened when I took both kids to my favorite Chinese restaurant, P.F. Chang with my parents. Chloe was tired and hungry (very dangerous combination) so she was misbehaving at the table to say the least. I was trying to feed Shane and my mom was doing everything she could to calm Chloe down while we were waiting for the food. Then it happened. I remember it like a slow motion in a movie. Chloe threw a big white plate across the room. The restaurant is one big open space with alot of people chattering. Then all of sudden everyone went quiet, watching the plate shatter into pieces. All eyes were on me, as I put Shane back in his stroller, got up, picked up Chloe and walked out of the restaurant looking straight up. That happened about a month ago and I don’t think we’ll be going back to the restaurant anytime soon.

gym class

Yep. This was better. We both had lots of fun.

art class 101

Monday, December 1st, 2008

I took Chloe to a Gymboree art class this morning. She enjoyed painting and gluing things for a while in the beginning but after a snack time, she ran around the room, dancing and screaming, distracting other kids. I think we’re going to try a gym class next time. 🙂

happy thanksgiving

Friday, November 28th, 2008

We are most thankful for the new arrival of my son, Shane this year. We thank God for yet another amazing year.

my dad

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

During my parents visit this time, I learned that when I was 5 months old, my dad got an award from the president of S. Korea. He used to work for the Korean government until he retired and the award was for developing the Korean steelmaker, POSCO at that time. He hardly ever talks about himself so I had no idea until now that he had gotten an such honor. I remember we used to watch him in the evening news when I was young. I want my kids to know that their grandfather made significant contribution to the country.

My dad went back to Korea today. Even though he’s returning in a month, it still feels sad and he’ll be greatly missed. We will miss his tremendous help around the house and with the kids. My mom and I were able to sneak out for some shopping and some girl time once or twice a week, leaving Shane with my dad the days Chloe was at daycare. He’s a wonderful babysitter and a great play-date for Chloe as well. We miss you already!!

boyish boy & girly girl

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Shane had his two months check-up today (hight: 22 in., weight: 11 lbs. 1/2 oz.)

He’s cooing and smiling so much these days. He’s such a good baby. He sleeps well at night and doesn’t cry much. He had 3 shots at the doctor’s and he cried for 2 seconds. He’s the man! When he smiles my heart literally melts away. They say there’s something about mother and son… I think I understand it now. It’s different feeling from a daughter.

Chloe’s such a girly girl. She loves to play with lotion bottles, make-ups, and anything that sparkles. Oh and, she won’t go anywhere without her handbag and sunglasses.

I feel like a richest person on earth when I look at both of my kids!
