Chloe’s been waking up in the middle of the night calling for me, wanting to come sleep with us in our bed. It slowly started when Andrew would come home late at night from work, missing the kids, he would go give kisses and hugs to Chloe and if she "accidentally" woke up, he would bring her to our room. This happened a few times and after that, it’s been hard for both me and Andrew because Chloe got used to the routine of waking up at night to come sleep between us. What made it hard is that she sprawls out horizontally and often kicks Andrew in the head while I get pushed to the edge of the bed. This has been going on for over two months. Do you new parents hear me?! 2 MONTHS, so beware. Truth is, I can’t ignore her calling at night because I don’t want her to wake up Shane so I rush her to her room with my eyes barely open and grab her to bring her to our room. Why do I do this? Because I’m SO tired and I’m not conscious enough to discipline her. SO, after many talks, pleads, bargains, threats and negotiations I decide to buy her out. Some people might call it bribe, but I call it a REWARD system. I’m so desperate…
me: hey chloe, if you sleep in your own bed tonight, I’ll give you a lollipop tomorrow. what do you think?
chloe: lollipop? (she doesn’t seem so thrilled which is shocking as she’s always asking for one)
me: yeah lollipop! … TWO lollipops. i’ll give you TWO if you sleep here until tomorrow morning!
chloe: no… i don’t want lollipop…
me: what?!?! you don’t want it?
chloe: no… i don’t need it. i go trick or treating and I get my OWN candy. no thank you.

Awww – I’m sorry you aren’t getting enough sleep. We’ll take Chloe off your hands. I’m sure Daniel will love to babysit. 🙂
