That’s why. LOL
Kids have a hybrid schedule where they’ll do virtual learning in the morning and go to school in the afternoon.
They came back from school so happy and full of stories to tell! We sat around kitchen island talking about their friends, new teachers and everything else while eating snacks. I missed this time with kids! I’m so thankful for our teachers, faculty members, administrators and everyone else for all their hard work for preparing and making this possible for the students!
I created an outdoor space for myself. I come down here with my coffee and do my morning devotions, looking at my ever-growing garden.
And sometimes, we have breakfast here.
We decided to make a list of experiences we want to achieve as a family this summer, sort of like a summer bucket list. My first pick was kayaking on the Hudson.
I booked us a kayaking tour on the Hudson valley and that’s what we are doing on this gorgeous summer morning. We began our adventure kayaking south under Storm King Mountain before crossing the Hudson River to the base of Breakneck Ridge on the Eastern bank. This was a long stretch of constant paddling which took about 30 mins until we crossed the river. Then we paddled North to Pollepel Island. When we got to the island, the kayak guide shared history of the castle as we paddle around, viewing the ruins from the water-level perspective.
This was a lot of fun and really exhausting. I was amazed how strong Chloe was. She had no problem keeping her pace with everyone and she was the only teenager on a single kayak.
I made two roman shades for my studio windows and a window seat cushion using Caitlin Wilson’s tribeca fabric. Next I’m making window cornice for Shane room. Stay tuned!
I’ve been going to local nursery every week, adding more flowers to my backyard garden. It’s coming along nicely. I just hope that I keep them alive and well.
My vegetable gardening has been going really well! Hopefully we’ll get some cucumbers and peppers real soon.
Silver Award ceremony took place at our town park, all wearing masks. Chloe spent 50 hours completing her silver award project working with Camp Sunshine – a summer recreational program for disabled children and young adults.
CONGRATULATIONS, Chloe!! So Proud of you!
This was in 2016!
My 13 yr old girl, now.
Oh, and braces are gone!!!
I’ve been spending quite of a lot of time tending to my vegetable garden everyday. It’s actually very therapeutic for me. Love seeing them grow!
